Can I hook a 15 LCD computer monitor up to my DirectTV DVR?

Is it possible? It's an 15" LCD Dell monitor. Our TV went out in our bedroom and I was wondering if this would work instead of buying a new one. I never use the monitor for the PC anymore since I have a laptop.

it depends on the connectors on both items. if you have VGA, DVI, or HDMI on both then its possible.

Yes. Most LCD monitors should have VGA even if they also have DVI/HDMI. If this is the case, your monitor will work fine with a plain VGA connection.
If the monitor only has DVI/HDMI, you may need a new video card. You can find an internal video card online for $30 or so, that has DVI/HDMI. Or you can find an external video card for $90 or so, that has USB from PC to the external card, then HDMI output.
So, if your monitor has a VGA port, it will be compatible with your computer. If the monitor only has DVI/HDMI, go out and upgrade your video card for your PC.

You need a bigger hard Drive and maybye a bigger moniter, other than that its all set if it gets a bit slow add a gigabyte or 2 of RAM

Yes I believe you can.
I wouldnt want to do it in plain sheetrock. But this one was drilled into 1×10 boards to anchor it. So you can pretty much hang from it.
