Flat screen or flat panel. I will assume that you meant a flat panel. The difference is that CRTs now come in flat screen versions (flat glass) and then of course LCDs are called flat panels. Anyway, check Newegg, you can get a 15" LCD for as little as $153, http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductLis… but I would go ahead and spend the extra $60 or so to get a 17" ViewSonic, http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductLis…

-if u dont have good power supply ur motherboard may not be getting required power and shutting down
It very well may not support the native resolution of the monitor, which would be disappointing. It will work, but running an LCD monitor at other than native needs to interpolate the data and won't be nearly as sharp as it should be.
You can check out the specs for your graphics card, at least insure you do have the latest drivers which increases the chance that it will.
However, unless you are a gamer needing the hottest video card (and I have to think you are not, what with a 7 year old computer), you can pick up a new card that will support it pretty cheaply.
One word of caution, before you unplug the old CRT, set your refresh rate (frequency) to 60 Hz; most LCD panels won't support over 60 or 72, and will come up blank in Windows if you are set to, say, 85 for the CRT.
Don't fret about 60 Hz, LCDs don't flicker at that frequency like CRTs.

Hello, To answer your question there are a couple of things you can do. First, the biggest size in flat panel computer monitor screens they have are about 30in or so. You can also get a dual monitor setup which is pretty much two monitors that you can work on seperitaly but with the same mouse and keyboard. This tends to get very expensive. The second thing you can do is buy a regualar LCD Tv monitor of anysize almost the range from 12 inches to 72 inches so you have a vast assortment. There are special hook ups on the back of most the these types of tvs that enable you to hook your computer up to it so that your what ever size screen doubles as a computer monitor. This is what I am doing with my Vizio 42 inch screen at this point of time. It is really interesting too. But like I said. this can also get expensive. It all depends really on the size. Hope this helped!! Dr, Shakalu
make sure your monitor cable is plugged in securely on both ends. If that doesn't work, replace the cable.
HDMI cable works if your graphics card has an HDMI exit (probably does if it's not too old).

For 15 inches website 800*600 resolution is better. As letters get small if u use 1024*768 resolution. Well you can change the fontsize on internet browser just by holding ctrl key+scroll on mouse.
I prefer 800*600 for 15 inches. You can view better.
